I've pretty much done with Livejournal, in terms of fandom. I don't feel the need to rant and preach, but I do want to direct anyone with any interest in whatever I might post here to my GreatestJournal - username "greyjoy". A lot of X-Stuff will be mixed in with other fandom rants (I have loads of obsessions, I just don't write about them!) there, but you know... that's cool.

Please let me know if you guys have migrated too. I'm keeping my rl stuff here because I have so many good friends from college and grad school here, but other than that... I'm out like a fat kid in dodge ball. (Pietro moment! Nice, how appropriate!)

TITLE: Must Be The Music: Heart + Soul
AUTHOR: Beaubier
AUTHOR'S E-MAIL: fastlove.for.rentATgmailDOTcom
FANDOM: X-Men: Evolution
PERMISSION TO ARCHIVE: Any time, just let me know!
CATEGORY: Drama
RATINGS/WARNINGS: Rated pg-13 for language
SUMMARY: Third story in Must Be The Music. Northstar and Aurora have never been closer to the edge. Will they pull through in the end, or will they push each other away once and for all?
DISCLAIMER: I didn't invent the X-Men, and I have nothing to do with Evolution. If you somehow think I do: Thanks for the compliment, mislaid thought it may be.
NOTES: This is a sort of sequel to Thicker Than Water (which was a sequel to Relativity and then Here Comes Trouble), but it’s not necessary to read that saga to catch on here. I’ll make everything clear. That said, this is the third in a planned series of several one shots that explore the various main characters from TTW. Some will be serious, some fluffy, some just plain ridiculous (much like Here Comes Trouble, only more disjointed.) These stories will be written in chronological order beginning a few months after the end of TTW. This particular story coincides and shares scenes with the previous one, “Supermassive Black Hole.” You don’t HAVE to read SBH to get this one—but it might add another dimension.

This is Jean-Paul’s. If you don’t like this one, please hit up the next one just the same. They’ll all be completely different from each other. Except that… you know. I’m writing them all. The current line up is Wanda, Warren, Jean-Paul, Jean, Rogue, Sam, Pietro, Alex, Scott, Aurora. But of course that’s subject to change if I get a bug up my nose about something.

A short explanation of what the hell I’m doing here: When I write I have music for every character. Since I suck with titles and generally get most of my inspiration/ideas from music, each story in this planned series will be named after a song (a common cop out for me.) I’ll put a few lyrics at the beginning as an example of why because I’m a geek like that. But don’t try and match the song up with the story ala Dark Side of Oz. I’m not that clever. I just like music.

This is one I've wanted to do for a long time. The whole point of the fics was to put the Beaubiers and the Maximoffs where they belonged, and this pretty much wraps that up. Yes, I have more ideas for after this that continue in the plot vein... but you know. Time to let go.

Aurora's will expand further... but she's last :D
Oh yeah, and she’s a mutant.
DISCLAIMER: I didn't invent the X-Men and I have nothing to do with Evolution. Some will be serious, some fluffy, some just plain ridiculous (much like Here Comes Trouble, only more disjointed.) These stories will be written in chronological order beginning a few months after the end of TTW. This second half of this story happens simultaneously with the next one in the series, "Heart + Soul." It's not necessary to read that to get this one, but it will make everything more neat and clean and satisfying if you do.

This is Warren’s. If you don’t like this one, please hit up the next one just the same. They’ll all be completely different from each other. Except that… you know. I’m writing them all. And by them I mean the things… not the Manics… anyhow…)

Okay so I'm sunburnt all to hell thanks to Florida and too tired to be useful other than actually posting this thing that risty77 was kind enough to leave in my inbox for me. But I made this journal to talk about fanfiction and stuff where my regular lj friends wouldn't have to be plagued by it so goddammit, I'm gonna. Three words for you: White Rock Girl. (See Profile for explanation.)

I got more than one person saying that they didn't like Jeanne-Marie till I fucked her up. I'll tell you why that is: She wasn't herself till then. The fun of the whole saga so far has been to fuck them up and fix the Maximoffs. That's it. JM wasn't meant to be Sue like (someone mentioned that she was a bit, which struck me as odd since I knew where she was going-- right here-- from the beginning but makes sense from a "I'm not Katey" perspective. I have trouble with that perspective. Not only AM I Katey, but I have a terminal case of head-in-ass when it comes to things like that. I only keep writing cause I know people who are nice enough to point out to me when I do these things. Seriously.) at all. This is who I think of her as being. I started her out nice and sweet and boring though because what's the fun of fucking someone up if they started out fucked up?

And let me be honest, I like her better than Jean-Paul. Like genuinely prefer writing her to him. I like her when she's crazy because she's a badass. She's not purely crazy either-- there's reason behind her choices and decisions. No one bothers to write them usually, because Marvel Hates Women.

Also, I have trouble writing chicks who aren't crazy. Seriously. It might be terminal too. I'm not sure. We're looking into it.

I just wanted to say that somewhere. I feel very X-Menny but I don't feel like irritating people with my chatter this evening. So I put it here under a cut! And... hell. I should use this thing more anyhow.

In closing, the next one is even more depressing sort of. Sorry about that, but JP is 4 Real yo. He just doesn't admit to it. Whereas Warren just WANTS to be. Loser!
Hey y'all. I know it's been awhile but I'm back and working on some plot-light, character-heavy stuff to follow Thicker Than Water. You can find the first short story in a new series called Must Be The Music on the ff.n profile. Here are the details:

----------------------------------

TITLE: Must Be The Music: Right Where It Belongs
AUTHOR: Beaubier
AUTHOR'S E-MAIL: fastlove.for.rent_at_gmail_dot_com
FANDOM: X-Men: Evolution
PERMISSION TO ARCHIVE: Any time, just let me know!
CATEGORY: Wangst, but nothing serious.
RATINGS/WARNINGS: Rated pg-13 for language
SUMMARY: Wanda tries to come to terms with the memories she lost. Will the people around her (including dear old dad) help… or will they only make it worse? (Here’s a hint—she’s tougher than all of them put together.)
These stories will be written in chronological order beginning a few months after the end of TTW. Some will happen simultaneously, but I’ll let you know if that’s the case. For the most part they’re completely stand alone.

This is Wanda’s. Also totally open for sale are Warren and Evan (though they're optional, they could be pretty integral if someone wanted them). And as of tonight, we need a Scott.

You know you want to play with us. ;)

First off, I've decided to try my hand at the old RP. And it's pretty damn fun. I have Wanda and Alex over at Homo Inferior, and Evo RP run by Crimson Obsession and Idgiebay. It's been fun thus far, though the plot hasn't started quite yet. We're all just feeling out our characters. It doesn't require a huge time-commitment, it's relaxed, and the people are cool. It's got a personal journal side to it, and then the RP threads. Both have been entertaining.

For something a little more structured, with less of a personal journal feeling and more of a straight-up board RP (yes, totally inspired my Left Turn, if you know what I'm talking about, which is amazing), Taekwondodo and I decided to get another RP up and running, since we have time for both, as it turns out. It can be found here, at Project Bayville, and we're pretty much ready to start filling in slots. Game won't get going for a few weeks, but we're looking for a pretty real commitment, time-wise and effort wise. Not as laid back, but it should turn out some seriously quality fic, in the end. Pass it on, apply, whatever. I'm Pietro there! Andwon'tthatjustbesofun?!

The new issue of Fallen Angels took the fucking cake. Even Sue and I are happy with it. Go here, to ff.n and have a look, if interested. It's the conclusion of our two-parter about Bobby's secondary mutation. Bring in a "visit" from Weapon X, A new member (their last) coming into the fold, and a JP-Bobby-Kitty triangle that hurts the soul (not to mention the five other triangles developing, in house drama for the Angels abounds!) and you've got two fun-filled issues...

Either way, enjoy. 'Cause we did.

That said, the Fallen Angels now have their own site! All the issues are up there, if you hate ff.n. As some people do. and pretty pictures!

Thanks to people who are giving me submissions for The Beaubier Files. I've had a hell of a weekend, complete with visits from various and sundry old friends. So not much has gotten done. Oh, but it will! Thank you. Much love -Beaubier-

Give me links to your favorite Northstar/Aurora related sites, fics, etc. Hell, give me your own fic, and I'll put it up with mine, if you like. Give me your drawings. Give me anything. These are the stories of their adventures– the others they pick up along the way, their friendships, their loves, their losses, and the super-villain butt they kick.
DISCLAIMER: Sue Penkivech and Beaubier have nothing to do with the X-Men. Yes, all of these pairings are utterly, completely homosexual. They are also horrifically ooc. Lots implied, not much is actually said, however. If you are a literal Biblical Christian, skip chapter 3. It’s not offensive to anyone else, but certain of you may find it to be so.
SUMMARY: The 5 funniest, or strangest pairings I could come up with, from Uncanny or Xtreme X-Men teams at the moment. Includes Cannonball, Iceman, Jubilee, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Sage, Northstar, Husk, Archangel, and Rogue. Not necessarily in that order.
DISCLAIMER: None of these characters are mine. They belong to Marvel. I’m sure they’re particularly happy about that, right now.
NOTES: I admit it, slash rather fascinates me. This is a bit of a joke, in case you hadn’t noticed, because I’m well aware that none of it would happen. In fact, I purposely made the pairings less and less believable, coming up with the strangest ones I could. It was something of a challenge to myself. Starts out almost possible, ends up simply ludicrous. The characterizations are caricatures. Some seem a bit serious, but it’s all in good fun. I was just curious, if I could pull it off.
Turns out, I can’t, really.
Ah well, I had a laugh anyhow.
Soundtrack courtesy of Supergrass, The Charlatans UK, Massive Attack, Marilyn Manson, and Spacehog. ‘Cause what’s a little romance without a little music?

https://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1629380

They’re fairly wholesome, as fics go. Things get more and more disturbing, violent, and sexually explicit as the story progresses however. Bear in mind, it’s a story about a gay man, so yes, that means “slash” at one point. It has it’s function, so try and be open minded, but consider yourself warned. This is not a slashfic, more of a… psychological thriller, dramatic type of tale.
SUMMARY: Jean-Paul finds himself the victim of a strange mutant called Maya. Nightmares and insomnia plaguing him, he must find a way to break free of her influence.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Northstar. Pity. Nor do I own any of the other X-Men. I’m not making any money. I swear.
NOTES: This is starting out fairly happy and all, but it’s probably going to get quite dark before it’s over. He and Nightcrawler are sent off to contain a small “disturbance” created by a few mutant teens in West Virginia, and he finds himself coming face to face with a few old demons.
DISCLAIMER: The X-men are clearly, not mine. Lucky for them. The original character, Bullet Time, is also not mine, but a creation of a good friend of mine who as kindly lent him to me. Thanks, Geoff.
NOTES: My sincerest thanks to Sue Penkivech, for picking up on my not-so-subtle request for a beta reader on this, my first go at a serious fic. Without her, this would make even less sense. (if you haven’t read her “Just a couple of kids, after all,” you should. It’s brilliant.) This is my attempt to present Northstar as the hero I think he is, and to explain why I think he deserves the adulation. As formerly noted, the character Bullet Time belongs to my friend Geoff, and Jake is a mutant I invented, for the purposes of this story. I do not speak French, let alone Québécois, so feel free to correct, and/or add to anything I’ve tried to throw in to add a little credibility to his roots. The lyrics are all from songs by the Manic Street Preachers. Because they produce the best lyrics. Hands down. No contest. This will be a few chapters, likely not more than five or six, however.

http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1605247

Some of the X-team stop by and end up playing a classic drinking game. Iceman, Nightcrawler, Archangel, Husk, Northstar, and Havok all need a break from the Chuck Austen induced drama.
DISCLAIMER: Characters are clearly not mine. Don’t complain if you don’t like my Circle of Death rules. Everyone plays it differently, this is just the way I do it.
NOTES: Yes, I was bored. I don’t normally like to play cards, but I do like the occasional drinking game. The idea of the Uncanny crew on their day off sitting around playing an old college favorite made me laugh, so I scribbled it down. Mild ooc stuff here, as I really can’t imagine that some of them would be talked into such a thing, but hell, it’s fun anyhow. I suppose it takes place rather recently, before The Draco storyline in Uncanny, since I’m using the characters who were around for that, mostly.

http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1600114
